Job Description
The Senior HFE ensures that a user-focused, high performance, high commitment environment is developed and maintained. Senior HFEs are responsible for innovative information organization structures, interaction designs, page-level content organization, navigation, and prototypes of systems. They work as chief user advocates on each project team. They are responsible for promoting user needs within an overall structure deliverables that integrates the recommendations of the project team regarding user experience. The senior role is achieved when an employee demonstrates superior analytic skills as well as an ability to translate business and user requirements into a workable, efficient solution. Please note: 5% travel may be required for this position.
We are looking for someone with 3+ years of experience. Key skills are wire framing, interaction design, usability testing and writing UI Specifications. This person must sit in Dayton office to work closely with the team here. Experience working in an agile environment is a plus, as is experience working closely with development teams. Required Skills:
- Degree in HCI, Human Factors or related discipline; an advanced degree in research-based behavioral science discipline OR at least 5-7 years of relevant experience
- Expertise in usability testing methodologies and user-centered design
- Exceptional analytical skills
- Exceptional writing skills
- Strong abilities to synthesize many data into coherent information design direction
- 3 years of experience (minimum) in information architecture/user interface design
- Relevant application (Visio, PowerPoint, Illustrator, etc.) and design process expertise
- Developed approach to user-center design methodology
- 3 years of web-related experience; working on Web/software/multimedia development teams
- Strong client interaction/negotiation skills
